We need some help
Jakub Kubos from bh90210-forum.pl send me these questions for an article about the season 2 of 90210 and since I am not a typical American (well… Nelli and I both live in Germany LOL) I thought that it would be nice if some of you could answer these questions for him!
- What are typical Americans thinking about “90210″?
- Is watching “90210″ regarded as something shameful?
- Is the life of the 90210 characters very different compared to the life of true teenagers in America?
Please answer in a comment! (the more answers the better)
* What are typical Americans thinking about “90210″?
Most of the people I talk to don’t watch it, but it seems the verdict is, it’s a pretty terrible show, yet addictive.
* Is watching “90210″ regarded as something shameful?
most definitely
* Is the life of the 90210 characters very different compared to the life of true teenagers in America?
I would say so, I’m sure there are people like that, where those things happen to them, but not typically I wouldn’t say

Not at all!!
Is the life of the 90210 characters very different compared to the life of true teenagers in America?
Well no not really. It depends on the storylines.
Thank you for the input Wes and I am glad that it is not shameful
I think it is simply one of these hidden pleasures for some people LOL

You are very welcome
* What are typical Americans thinking about “90210″?
Most people I know including me like this show, however I think a big part of it is age bracets 24 and under seem to enjoy it a lot however 25 and above think its just un realistic and immature.
* Is watching “90210″ regarded as something shameful?
somewhat! I don’t think really anything is shameful to watch. If its something you enjoy, most people are proud to say so. every once in a while i will come accross someone who is like “you really watch that??” and my response to that is “you better believe it!”
* Is the life of the 90210 characters very different compared to the life of true teenagers in America?
I would say no… But I think it matters where you live in america, and how wealthy you are. This show is about Americans living in 90210 and are for the most part upper class. So I suppose there are some Americans that have very similar life styles however for the most part I don’t think the majority of people have such drama packed lives.
hope this helps!
* What are typical Americans thinking about “90210″?
i watch it with my friends, and they all love it.
* Is watching “90210″ regarded as something shameful?
not at all, it’s just like any other tv show – just better.
* Is the life of the 90210 characters very different compared to the life of true teenagers in America?
definitely, however the characters on 90210’s lives are exaggerated compared to a typical teen.
I love 90210!!!!!!!!!! i love this season and the first one and i have NO SHAME in that.
It’s one of my favorite shows it’s in my dvr series record and don’t care who knows.
I don’t think the kids are different from the kids i went to school with i graduated in 2009 and everyone was having sex. doing drugs. founding out their sexualities. and dating on and off or whiching up their friends boyfriends. plus the weight issue that everyone was talking about in the media on the first season were things going on in my school and i live in Michigan.
Not a lot of my friends watch it, but those who do think it’s really well written.
People kinda laugh when I say I’m a fan, cause they think I’m talking about the original. And watching the original today it kinda seems corny. I have gotten many people to give 90210 a shot.
I can’t relate to any of the characters really. They are very privileged.
I know a lot of people that became fans in the second season. They (including me) love how the show is improving week to week.
Not at all! It’s gaining a lot of popularity where I am from.
Yes and no. I think all of the characters have certain qualities that everyone can relate to. However, I am not as privliged as some of the characters.
