Though 90210 made a dazzling debut in its first season, the CW hit’s star Lori Loughlin promises the drama will only escalate the second time around. “The show is going to explode this year! The stories are just amazing,” Lori, the new spokesperson of the National Association of School Nurses’ Voices of Meningitis campaign, tells In Touch about her series’ second season, which premieres on September 8. Viewers were left with a cliffhanger in May when Shenae Grimes’ character, Annie, seemed to drunkenly hit a pedestrian with her car “Annie is going to be battling with a terrible secret, and she really becomes an outcast. She’s going to be rebellious and disconnected from her family,” Lori, who plays Annie’s big-hearted mother, Debbie, adds. “Debbie is trying to see what’s going on, but Annie’s very closed off.”

In addition to the high school crowd’s crazy antics, Debbie and her husband Harry will have their own fair share of trouble. “There are going to be challenges in the marriage. There is even going to be a love triangle!” Lori says, hinting Jennie Garth’s character, guidance counselor Kelly Taylor, is the third party.

Though she is best-known for her role in the teen drama, Lori is also busy as the face — and voice — of the NASN’s Voices of Meningitis campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of the deadly disease meningitis, which hits young adults the hardest of any age group. “Moms and dads out there should be aware that they can ask their doctor if the vaccination is right for their child. I want to make parents aware that they don’t have to suffer a tragedy like other families have,” stresses the actress.
