AnnaLynne, the star of Beverley Hills 90210, was so touched by the plight of Lillie-Mai that she donated £5,000 to help her after she lost an arm and both legs.
Lillie-Mai, who celebrates her first birthday today, was just 14 weeks old when she had to have her limbs amputated after she was struck down by meningitis.
Today her parents Rupert Jackson, 31, and Belinda Little, 23, said they were “over the moon” with the “perfect” birthday gift.
The £5,000 will go into a fund to help pay for her care.
It also means that she will be able to walk as the cash will help to pay for prosthetic legs with flexible knees which are not supplied by the NHS and cost £25,000 a pair.
The star, who says she “had to help”, has her own charitable clothing line and is a Goodwill Ambassador for the Blind Project. She plays Naomi Clark in the hit TV series.
“I was so affected by Lillie-Mai’s bravery and spirit I was delighted to help in just a small way,” she said.
“Her story is so moving it is impossible not to be affected by it. Her parents have gone through absolute hell but are determined to do everything they can to support her and are doing such a great job in raising the profile of this disease.
“I would urge everyone to do their best to help them in any way they can and I cannot wait to travel to the UK to meet her.”
