McCord delighted with charity’s grant
Actress Annalynne Mccord has thanked her Twitter.com fans for their support after her favoured charity won a £156,250 grant to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Skip related content
The 90210 star is a longterm supporter of the St. Bernard Project, which provides relief for survivors of the 2005 natural disaster.
They desperately needed funds to build a wellbeing centre in the Louisiana city, and McCord entered them into a Pepsi Refresh Celebrity Challenge for a cash prize.
And she was delighted to discover on Thursday that they had triumphed in the vote.
In a post on her Twitter page, she writes, “WE WON WE WONTHANK YOU PEPSI REFRESH! @SIMONHUCK I LOVE YOU!! @stbernardproj Won $250k thks to all of you amazing ppl (people) voting!”

Kellan Lutz and his girlfriend, AnnaLynne McCord, touch down after a flight to LAX airport on Sunday (August 29).
The 25-year-old actor and his sweetie were down in New Orleans, Louisiana helping build houses with the St. Bernard Project!
“We have a building goal of around the clock building 5 houses in 7 days,” Kellan tweeted, “ending tomorrow on the 5th anniversary [of Hurricane Katrina].”
AnnaLynne made her trip a family affair – her aunt, sister Angel and friends all came along to help out!

Stars Line Up For Reality Cares’ Emmy Weekend Charity Events
Reality Cares will celebrate Emmy weekend with a whole host of celebrity charity events this week.
Friday August 27 – Daytime, 11:00 am – 4:00 p.m.
Reality Cares is hosting a Giving Lounge where celebrities will be asked to “give back” in order to receive the event sponsors’ hottest products.
Friday August 27 – Evening, 7:00 p.m. -10: 00 p.m.
Reality Cares Cancer Benefit sponsored by the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and JetBlue to benefit The Wellness Community-West Los Angeles, a non-profit that provides free education and support for people living with cancer.
Saturday August 28 – Daytime
Reality Cares is hosting second day of their Giving Lounge where celebrities will be asked to “give back” in order to receive the event sponsors’ hottest products.
The events take place at the Penthouse Rooftop, Luxe Hotel Rodeo Drive, 360 N Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.

Kids And Celebrities To Celebrate Summer At LA Mission
Kids will celebrate summer and charity with a little celebrity help this Saturday, August 28, at the Los Angeles Mission.
Fifth Street between Wall and San Pedro will be transformed into a playground with food, games, prizes, crafts, face painting tent, giant inflatable slide and more. Children who live in the area will have a day of carefree summer fun at the Los Angeles Mission’s Annual End of Summer Block Party.
