“90210″ GANG PLANS FOR THEIR VEGAS VACATION!
Just yesterday, I shared with you a few pieces of scoop regarding Liam’s (Matt Lanter) doomed relationship with preggo Jane, and while that whole storyline sounds pretty emotionally charged, rest assured the gang on 90210 still knows how to party. Case in point: They’re headed to Vegas!
“This year, [the new showrunners] are finding a way to have a sense of togetherness,” says Lanter. “For me, personally, watching some of the older episode of 90210, the cool thing was to see the group together. They were the characters we knew and seeing them, like, go on vacation together was kind of fun.”
And there will be lots of “fun” had by Liam, who Lanter also said will be returning to modeling this season, in Vegas. “It’s good times for Liam, and he even discovers a bit of his fame in Las Vegas,” Lanter says. Yes, folks, fame. As it turns out, modeling will prove to be a much more successful venture the second time around. “This time it’s much more serious and long term, and he has a good bit of success with it. He comes into quite a bit of money, actually.”
“It’s a whole new world for Liam because up until now, he’s always been down and out. Later in the season, we’re going to start seeing some good things happen to him. He’s going to benefit from money and have a little fun with it. It’s a pretty cool storyline coming down the pipe,” he says. “Being single and having money can be fun. It’s a huge change for him. He’s never been in that boat.” All aboard!.

“Benefit Of The Doubt” (TV-14, D) (HDTV)
KELLIE PICKLER GUEST STARS – Liam (Matt Lanter) gets offered a modeling job after an agent sees the commercial for his bar, while Annie (Shenae Grimes) finds herself starting to fall for an unlikely guy. During a charity talent show event to raise money for an experimental cancer treatment for Raj (guest star Manish Dayal), Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) is determined to win the contest in order to show up Austin’s (guest star Justin Deeley) out-of-town visitor Sally (guest star Kellie Pickler). While working on his music, Dixon (Tristan Wilds) pushes his limits and starts spiraling out of control, which forces Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) to confront him. Gillian Zinser, Jessica Stroup and Michael Steger also star. James L. Conway directed the episode written by Liz Phang (#406).
EW has learned exclusively that Billy Ray Cyrus has signed on to play Judd Ridge, the father of southern rich kid Austin (Justin Deeley).
The role won’t be much of a stretch for Cyrus: He will play a country western star of a different name. Judd’s son Austin was introduced in the premiere episode as a new love-hate interest for Naomi (Annalynne McCord). They had an adversarial encounter over a house that she wanted to buy.

After blowing her chance to go to NYU, Silver is cutting out college altogether… to work for Navid? When 90210 returns for its fourth season (Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW), Kelly’s little sis will have a whole new set of priorities.
Over the summer, Silver has sprinted into adulthood: she’s now living with Navid (Michael Steger) and playing surrogate mom to his little sister, all while trying to figure out a career for herself. Jessica Stroup, 24, talks to TVGuide.com about her own post-graduation anxiety, why Silver isn’t as tight with Naomi this year and teases a “major arc” for her character and ex-beau Teddy.
High school shows that matriculate to college have a mixed track record. How did you feel as graduation approached last season?
Stroup: I was a little nervous about it because so much of our last couple of years have been focused on school and how it related to what we did in everyday life — even though our lives in Beverly Hills are so extravagant. But I really wanted to branch out and explore things outside of being inside that little bubble of school, and I think the writers did a really good job of that. Not everyone is going to go to college this season. My character does not.
Silver doesn’t enroll in CU?
Stroup: As of right now, she hasn’t. Right now, she’s exploring her creative side. You live in California and there are opportunities… But she starts out the season working with Navid as an assistant at Shirazi Studios. You can imagine living, working and being in love with someone… all of these things being on top of each other is probably not going to be a very good thing.
We hear part of the problem is Navid’s sister, Leila (guest star Summer Bishil), who crashes their domestic bliss. What can you tell us about her?
Stroup: Navid’s family is gone because of the underage porn scandal, and she was supposed to go to Switzerland or somewhere to finish high school. But she begs to stay back because she wants to finish with all her friends, and the only option for that is for her to stay with Navid and Silver. So she moves in and it’s just chaos. She’s a young brat who likes to get into trouble and doesn’t care what she says or what she does or if it affects other people or not.

SORORITY GAMES — In an effort to re-gain her status, Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) rushes a popular sorority, where she, along with Annie (Shenae Grimes) go through sorority games. Annie finds out a shocking secret about new guy Jeremy (guest star Matt Cohen) that could affect her future. Liam (Matt Lanter) decides to keep the bar he bought on a whim and has a surprise guest from Alaska come into town, while Dixon (Tristan Wilds) finds an unlikely roommate in country boy Austin (guest star Justin Deeley), which could lead to trouble. The search for Navid’s sister Leila (guest star Summer Bishil) forces Navid and Silver (Jessica Stroup) to enlist in Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) for help, much to the dismay of Silver. Gillian Zinser also stars. Elizabeth Allen directed the episode written by Terrance Coli (#402).

90210 is about to bring on its own Mr. Big: EW has learned exclusively that Chris McKenna has signed on for multiple episodes to play Patrick, a rich, powerful and very charming businessman who falls for Annie (Shenae Grimes).
But she may not want to pursue this relationship: Patrick continues to date other women in other cities. He doesn’t do it to be mean; he’s just too darn busy to be a one-woman man. The producers describes him as a young Mr. Big — a smooth mover who gets what he wants.
McKenna has made numerous TV appearances on dramas like Harry’s Law, Rizzoli & Isles and NCIS: Los Angeles. He also played Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live.
90210 returns to the CW on Sept. 13.

Question: Got any Liam-centric 90210 scoop? —Deb
Ausiello: In what is arguably one of the most realistic storylines the show has ever tackled, Liam will become a male model this season.
